But in my ten years working inside the fast-paced innovation ecosystem at Arizona State University, the one thing I have <em>never<\/em> been called is basic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For a long time, my career looked like a masterclass in high performance&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Navigating a decade in the fast-paced, innovative world of higher education at Arizona State University, I knew how to leverage my neurodivergent brain to operate at a massive scale. I hit the deadlines, mastered the new tech, and rode waves of intense hyperfocus to deliver incredible results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But for years, there was a hidden tax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I would survive a grueling day in an open-office workspace, keeping pace with an infinite stream of tasks and digital demands, only to clock out completely running on empty. I was spending 100% of my executive functioning points just to mask and get through the 8-to-5. By the time I got home to the people I love most, I was in a state of total sensory bankruptcy and burnout. I had nothing left to give. I wasn&#8217;t living; I was just recovering so I could wake up and do it all over again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That isn&#8217;t sustainable.
